• A new startup, ‘alwire’, aims at being an ‘OPEN for all’ Social News Network where, ANYONE can add posts, updates, and views about any event that takes place around them. Users, upon encountering anything news-worthy, say for instance an automobile accident, may record a video of the incident using their cell phones, add details to it, and then upload it to the server, for all to view and comment upon. The alwire mobile app comes with a Location Detection feature which, when enabled, automatically detects the location of the posting users, or allows them to select the location of the incident themselves. Another recent addition to alwire is the free ‘Classifieds’ section, where users may add free advertisements for their local areas and target their own local audiences. alwire is slowly getting traction but it has a long way to go.
